Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form, sober conscious movement practice. Participants dance barefoot to a DJ-guided musical journey lasting 1-2 hours, following simple guidelines: no talking on the dance floor, no phones, no substances, and no judgment. The practice originated in the 1990s and has grown into a global movement with events in over 100 countries.
What should I bring?
Bring comfortable, breathable clothes you can move freely in—loose pants, leggings, or shorts work well. A reusable water bottle is essential. We recommend wearing layers since you’ll warm up during dancing. A yoga mat is optional.
Do I need dance experience?
No dance experience is required—Ecstatic Dance welcomes complete beginners. There are no choreographed steps, no right or wrong moves, and no one watching or judging. About 40% of our participants are first-timers.
What is included in the event?
This 3.5-hour immersive event includes: Sacred Cacao Ceremony with Mari Morissa, Ecstatic Warm-Up, Ecstatic Dance with DJ Maxim Sol (flying in from Bali) accompanied by Sound Meditation by Equani (handpan, percussion, sound healing), and Integration & Closing Circle.
